February 7th

  AGM followed by Scratch  Art

The groups first meeting of the 2024 is a brief report of 2023 and the Annual Subcription Fee  for 2024 is due , the annual fee continues to be £15, a good price, and can be paid at the meeting by cheque or cash, Bacs payments are accepted details will be available.

For Scratch Art all materials will be provided

Workshop - 50 strokes or under - The theme for the evening will be painting in an impressionist/expressionist style .There will be a short demonstration and then it will be your chance to paint a small “canvas”. CAG member Chloe will be sharing with you a fun method that may help you paint more loosely. Please bring some brushes (flats are ideal) a palette ,water pot and either acrylic or gouache paints . You will be painting thickly. Chloe will provide images/ canvases 

July 3rd

Day meeting - 10am to 4pm -  Outdoor Painting/sketching at Over Hall, Colne Engaine, CO6 2HW 

Over Hall is a private Georgian House set in a superb location. The owner has kindly agreed to allow Coggeshall Art Group members to paint in the extensive gardens and grounds. 

Unfortunately due to bad weather the meeting had to be cancelled, hopefully next year we will try

 Demo & talk  by Textile Artist Alexandra Waylett

Educated in Fine Art Alexandra Waylett went on to study in textiles especially stitch, which she uses as a drawing tool, paint, ink & foil are also incorporated into her work.​​

September to December 2024

Workshop - Life Drawing  - The Clothed Figure - We have a life model to pose for us for the evening. Please bring your own materials to paint/draw with.  

October 2nd - 7.30pm to 9.30pm

 Demo - Graham Webber

​Graham Webber is a British Landscape painter in Oils. An exhibiting artist also offering workshops, demonstrations and painting tuition. https://www.grahamwebber.co.uk/

November 6th - 7.30pm to 9.30pm  

 Magazine Collage Workshop

After taking a video course by magazine collage artist Giles Davies during the Covid -19 lockdown, art group member Ivana Cecconi Bowes was inspired to create some collages of her own. In this workshop Ivana  will demonstrate this easy technique which can produce some very interesting results.You will need to bring some scissors, a glue stick and a landscape picture to work from. And some tweezers are really helpful too.

Christmas social at the Coggeshall Conservative Club for members & guests​.
